Director’s Message
"I came across this script nearly two years ago and instantly I was in love! I was excited by the adaptation; enthralled by the language; flooded with images of staging; curious about the complexity of each character. I was in love for reasons any aspiring director would admit. But, what struck me to my core was the uncanny resemblance I discovered between myself and cholos: the yearning to be part of something greater than oneself. Something that you would live and die for: Family. Honor. Tradition. This awakening has revived my childhood dream to use my passion for the arts in a way that inspires others to dream big and settle for nothing less than greatness. This is why we are partnering with Homeboy Industries to bring this amazing story to the stage in the Southeast Los Angeles area."
